I like to think it was the luck of the Irish that brought Sean and me together. It was St. Patrick's Day, and we were celebrating at the closest thing North Bay had to an Irish pub—the Bull and Quench.
It was love at first sight! I spotted Sean across the room in a big blue knitted sweater, and that was it—he had my heart. Twenty plus years later, that silly old sweater is still kicking around, and just the thought of it brings a smile to my face.
From the start, it was clear we shared more than just love—we both had a passion for photography. I was fresh out of photography school with big dreams, and Sean had just returned home after years of tree planting out West. Despite the 10 years between us, we clicked in every way.
Within weeks of meeting, Sean rented a tiny studio apartment, and together, we turned my dream into a reality. Now, nearly two decades later, we’ve gained a lifetime of experiences and have two amazing kids who teach us every day to embrace the beauty in life’s little moments.
